After installation of Windows is recommended to install Service Pack [SP] which can be upgraded retrospectively. If you make many installations can be made so-called Streamed installation where it blends into the SP and also the KB and Drivers from an installation disc and make a new installation disc.
For Windows 7 recommended Service Pack 1 [SP1]. Updated via Windows Update or downloaded for free-standing installation.
- Installing the drivers for Chipset. Always start with this Driver, Then you can install the LAN, Audio, Graphic, m.m. in any order. Restart the computer.
- Update Windows with Internet Explorer if it is XP (one of the few times I use IE). There is a link under Tools in Internet Explorer. Windows OS 7 have Windows Update in Control Panel.
Check in Device Manager if there are any yellow icons (Right click on My Computer > Manage > Device Manager).
If there are yellow icons missing the drivers for any hardware in your computer. Locate them on the Internet or CD.
- When all the yellow warnings are gone in the device manager, you have a new system installed for your computer. But that eat far from clear. I recommend installing antivirus software, Antispyware and no suitable tool to keep your system in good condition.
